Furlough leave: Online training with live Q&A

“Furlough Leave” was not a concept known to British employment lawyers or HR professionals before 20 March 2020, but we have all had to swiftly make it part of our daily vocabulary. Although welcomed by business groups and individuals alike to manage income support and protect jobs during the Coronavirus Pandemic, the guidance has been frequently updated and left many confused.

Jessica Piper and Emily Dixon from Ashtons Legal’s Employment Law team will be hosting this pre-recorded training session to help you unpick furlough leave and deal with some of the frequently asked questions.

Live chat with a lawyer - Although the main presentation will be pre-recorded, Jessica will be online throughout this session answering your questions in real-time. Simply use the chat and question functions to raise your queries and Jessica will promptly respond.

FAQ's covered will include:

· what is it and how do I put my staff on it?

· how do I legally reduce my staffs’ pay to 80% / £2,500 per month?

· how do I make my claim?

· can I compel people to take holiday during furlough leave? How much will they be paid?

· how do I deal with those on sick leave, or one of the statutory family leaves?

· can I furlough the directors?

· can I make people redundant whilst on furlough leave?

· can individuals work their notice whilst on furlough leave?

· how should I stay in contact with staff whilst on furlough leave?

· how should I best bring my staff back from furlough leave?

Questions can be submitted prior to the session by emailing: jessica.piper@ashtonslegal.co.uk

£42 (incl. VAT) - Session length - 45 minutes plus time for questions.

A recording of the training will be emailed to you afterwards.

A receipt will be emailed to your registration address.
